Seller of 66 GT350H on Ebay describes car as re-tubbed. Shelby Vin plate apparantly placed over the chassis of an "A" code car, presumably with as much Shelby unique parts installed. If the original K code chassis or Ford Vin # ever shows up on a restored "K" code Mustang or "Shelby" and the Ford Vin # can be confirmed by SAAC as the original chassis for the Hertz car, then who owns the real Shelby? It seems to me that law enforcement agencies would require the car on Ebay to be re-registered with the Vin # of the "A" code mustang??

I agree - most of time from what I understand if there is a wrecked Shelby most will try to perserve the inner front fenders where the SFM and matching Ford VIN codes reside plus all other numbers matching pieces (ie) VIN numbered 289 block, etc. This practice is very controversial and always creates great confusion as to the value and heritage of the "car" but has occurred numerous times particularly the Cobras.

This car is nothing more than a clone with a Shelby American plate. There is nothing you can rely on regardless of what the owner says.

the car is officially called a Re-Body. a Nicely done Mustang "Recreation" using genuine Shelby parts. he tried to sell the car on eBay previously and used the term "Re-bodied" as I recall. now the new buzz word is "Tubbed"?? this is a car that will be bought by an over enthusiastic individual who's emotions will rapidly change when he attempts to register the car with SAAC. interestingly, I noticed a Hemi Cuda Rebody did $400,000 on Barrett Jackson! there are several known ZL-1 Camaro's that are Re body's. My personal Rule of thumb is this. If SAAC recognizes the car as a SHELBY and the State Government is also on board, then that means you are off to a good start. History and documentation of these cars is more important than ever. as time goes by and value increases, so will the greed of unscrupulous individuals to attempt to cash in on the uninformed with a Fake car.
