In my outdated 2001 book GT40 by Legate it mentions Bob Romak bought the car. I know I ran across a man with a red GT40 Mk. I at Monterey some years ago who was lamenting that someone had bujilt a replica with the same SN and there was a trial in Switzerland to determine which one had the real claim to being the car and he couldn't go and they decided in the other person's favor. I was wondering if that has been corrected in later registers because apparrently Ronnie Spain at some time inspected it and decided Romacks was the right one. The Legate book has it owned by Tom Armstrong and racing on the West Coast but that book is 12 years old now.

I wonder how many Scuderia Filipinetti GT40s (aside from #1033 and #1042) are around or Performance Cars LTd. (founded and financed by Filipinetti) sold. Have a pic showing one in front of their shop in 1966.
