    Hello,
My father purchased a storage unit a couiple of years ago and we found some old photo negatives in it. There are quite a few pictures of Mr Shelby in the bunch and other old racers as well as Race cars from the 60s.

We are looking to find someone that can help us figure out who the racers are that are in the pics, as well as the cars that are in the pics.

My dad has used one of those negative to digital scanners and has the pictures in digital form. We want to be careful to protect the photos so any help with that would be appreciated too. These could be some history that everyone will want to see in the future.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Jake, the internet is world wide. Could you tell us where you are located?

And, it would be helpful to know what race, or where your dad might have taken the photos. Did he work for a race team?

If you could post just a couple here we might be able to help. Possible somebody here knows where the photos are from.

His Dad did NOT take the Photo's. His Dad Bought a Storage Unit and the Negatives were inside the Storage Unit.

Jake, If you have a Wal-Mart in your area, you can take the Negatives there. In there Photo Department you will find a Machine that you can slip the Negatives into and produce Photos while you watch. You don't have to send them off, and you get Photos in Minutes.

Mike, The best way to get car's and driver's IDed is to post some pics so the knowledgable folks here can help you. I am not sure what you mean by "protect the photos". Is your concern protecting the negatives from damage or are you trying to protect the images from being pirated by someone if you post them on-line?
    Jay

PS If you have pics of a car that looks like the one in this link, I would be interested in seeing them

I am concerned about having someone pirate them if I post them online. My Dad and I know that there is a lot of interest in Carroll Shelby out there and we arent looking to make a ton of money on these pics. Right now we just want to get the drivers and cars identified. We have already got all the images downloaded to the computer. We want to figure out a way to protect the images before we post them for all to see.

I have already contacted SAAC to find out if there is anyone there that can help us.

    Roddster,
We live in California and from what I can remember these were all races from tracks located in Northern and Southern California.

I am still trying to figure out how to protect the pics before I post any online.

There is a program you can buy that will imprint a name, code, whatever over the photo. Some folks on Ebay use this so their pictures don't get borrowed by the Nigerians for scams.
