Fan Shroud on Hipo 289's

    I re did my fan shroud on my 65 Shelby and after i sand blasted it at the
    bottom of the shroud it had a piece of rubber stapled to it . Is this how they
    came on the cars when new? i have one i bought from Ford years ago and it
    does not have the rubber piece on it.

    I found out why the rubber was on the fan shroud because it hits the battery tray.
