    Hi !

As I said on my introduction page, I'm from France and seriously looking for a Shelby GT-H to replace my 2005 V6.

Few Hertz are for sale on Ebay, now for reasonable price, especially for an european with the advantageous rate of exchange we have (1$ = 1.39 Euro +/-). I expect a car around $35/37000, wich seems possible now.

But as you can imagine, my problem is that I can't see the cars otherwise than in photographs, wich is not the best solution... They all look shiny on Ebay !

That's why I come towards you : does anybody knows a nice GT-H from a serious dealer or collector ? Does anyone could know history (repairs, owners...) of a car if I get his serial number ? I need to locate some good cars before launching my steps.

    Many thanks for help l

& sorry again for my schoolish english !

I've been on the hunt for a GT-H since I first rented one this summer, and have gone back & forth on what I want. You are correct, the prices have come down drastically. I did have an offer on one from a dealer for $34,500 US, although it had 15,000 mi on it, the most I've seen.

Almost every dealer I spoke with was more than willing to provide additional photos and information. Those more savy with "E-marketing" called me when convenient for me or gave me their home numbers.

I've not bought a car site unseen, but one would hope that a reputable dealer would be able to provide you with the photos to help you make a decision.

    Good luck!

Are they other classified sources on Internet where I could find other GT-H for sale ? I know the Dupont Registry & the Hemmings, but nothing at the moment...

No matter what the pictures, the salesman, or your personal inspector report, be prepared for a few more scratches and scuffs here and there (more than you'd expect and more than anyone would probably catch with photos). These are used cars, of course.

That said, unless you are looking for an absolutely pristine example, you are probably in the market for 90% of GT-Hs for sale. Those super low mileage cars went in the first few auctions and commanded a $60,000 or more price.

I think the key is to find a dealer you are comfortable with, perhaps someone that has more than one car on the lot to offer you, and see what they can do for you. I bought from the same dealer offering #493 and they were pretty good about dealing long distance. Don't know about another country - that might be handled mostly by your importer anyway.

As the other poster noted, many of the cars for sale currently have between 10,000 and 20,000 miles on them and seem to be selling for between $34,000 and $39,000 plus taxes, registration, shipping, etc. In your case, I assume shipping from the East Coast or maybe Texas would be cheapest to Europe.

    Good luck.
