I plan to do the following to my otherwise stock '67 GT350 -

    1) Lower the upper A arms 1"
    2) Use stock springs and original Koni shox
    3) Fit 225/60/15 radials to stock Magstars.

I understand this will lower the front of the car about 1" and increase camber change under 'bump' conditions (eg cornering) for better turn-in.

Since the car is used exclusively on the street, my questions are -

    a) Can I expect any tire clearance problems?
    b) Can I get away with using stock upper A arms (without modifying the top joint with wedges)?
    c) Does anyone have alignment specs for this setup for normal street use?

    Any advice much appreciated.

When I started doing open track events at SAAC, my 67's handling was "interesting", tires squealing, body roll, very sloppy, etc. I swapped out the standard springs for Contour springs (1" drop 620 pounds). That's weight not cost!! I put on new Koni's, balljoints, and stock type lower A arms. I run 225/60R15's on American Racing Torque Thrust D's with no clearance issues. The most important thing I did was replace anything rubber w/ urethane, front and rear. It really transformed the car, and I highly recommend doing so if you haven't already. The ride is a bit stiffer but still comfortable, and the handling is absolutely transformed. A friend has lowered A Arms on his 66 GT350, and w/o power steering, it's like steering a dump truck at slow speeds, but once going it's ok. The uppers are stock on his car. When we build our 65 GT350 clones, we lower the A arms usually. www.mcmichaelmotorsports.com

My alignment numbers that seem to work well for the 67:
    Camber: 1.0 degree
    Caster: 0.8 degree
    Toe: .17 degree
    Cross Camber: .1 degree
    Cross Caster: 0 degree
    Total Toe: .34 degree

I used to just run these wheels/tires on the track, but I like the look, I keep the 10 spokes off now most of the time. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/347503. Hope some of this helps.

    Cheers,
