Hello to all: I have a simple question about the lower control arm used on Ford cars built in the 1960-73 years. What are the 2 tabs that are spot welded on the arm used for?I have yet to find any reference to them in a service manual, and it seems everyone has a different name for them eg.. jacking tabs..lifting tabs..service tabs.My guess is they were useful for some reason during initial assembly on the production line.Any ideas ? maybe a front end alignment fixture used them as a reference point? If you have any ideas or clues please post. Thanks P.D.:)

you have answered your own question. They are jacking tabs, to locate the jack.
