I am working my suspension on my GT350. I pulled of my front wheels and there are 1/4" spacers. I believe they are there to clear the calipers as they are ground down a little bit.The back space on the 10 spoke rims are aprox
4 1/2". How far can I grind down the calipers or is that the answer? If I leave the spacers in it will push the wheel towards the fender. I don't have this issue on my 68 GT 500. Has anyone dealt with this problem.

Very common. It sounds like you have the 1st generation 10 spokes which will not clear the 68 calipers. The later ones for the 68's have a 1/8" cast in spacer on the back of the wheel. Typically an 1/8 spacer will do it. What size tires are you running? The other way is to grind the caliper. It needs about 1/8-3/16" removed from top edge (plenty of meat there).

When I got my car 8-9 years ago, it had the steel wheels & covers. Got the 10 spokes from T. Branda & they also were hitting something. Put one washer on each lug nut , prob solved. [68-500 ] .---S.

I had the exact same problem. Just grind alittle off the calipers.
