well guys like the subject line says, I have some good news and some bad news and I need some weigh in from the group to help me decide where I am going to take this For the past couple of months I have been starting to take apart my 66 project. Well, this weekend I tore the interior and wiring out and roll it out into the driveway to pressure wash and prepare for getting the thing on the rotisserie for blasting. the bad news is that the pas qtr and wheelhouse is worse than I thought and trunk floor is pretty much junk from collision damage. the dash is worse than I thought with the dents and drilled holes and the roof has some dents. the front frame extensions that are under the front floor are really beat up, beat to cr&p to be exact. the good news is that the floor is excellent other than the large dent on the foreword part of the passenger side and the factory primer on the bottom is in remarkable condition. also the battery apron has some rust but no holes, even the battery tray is 90% there. I noticed that the 'blacking out' on the lower pinch weld is still there and in good shape ( I will take pix so you all can see how ford did it if you would like) when I got the car I saw a thick coating of junk on the bottom of the car that I assumed was undercoating covered with alot of road stuff. to my amazement when I started to pressure wash it to get the loose stuff off (so it would not fall on me when I am under the car stripping parts) I notice the stuff was comming of fairly easy and the condition of the floor amazed me. well this is where the 'problem' starts. I was planning to have the car blasted and start fresh top to bottom, but concidering the condition should I be doing this? I have started to think perhaps that I should only spot blast the bottom. so what do you think? will the new paint/primer stick to the bottom? should I do a light blast to break the surface? now what? I plan to take a bunch of pictures of the bottom once the car is on the rotirrerie and gets some more pressure washing. bob
