It's been a long time since I visited or posted here. I have been very busy opening a new Collision center. It has taken a lot of time and money. Also put my project on hold. I own a 1970 GT500 #2965. I bought the car in 1974 (3rd Owner). I used to drive and show it but it has been in storage now for a few years. I gave it to my some and he wants to Resto-Mod it a bit. Before hanging me please be patient. I have some ideas of what will be changed and what will not. I'm always looking for Ideas and Opinions before I start. I plan to start on this project next year. May be looking for parts and selling a few.
A 1970 GT500 is a very rare and much sought after car. It is worth a whole lot more money in a factory or stock condition than any amount of mods you can do to it. You really should reconsider any modding.
My recommendation, there is nothing wrong with a modified car..but i would highly consider buying a regular 69 mustang fastback and modding that...there are only so many original cars out there, you can turn anything into a restomod. And by the time its restomodded, it makes very little difference whether its an original shelby or not. Best Regards and welcome to our forum! Vern
