Hey guys, I'm set on buying the 2010 GT 500 but I'm also looking to do some upgrades as well and need your opinion on things... I'm thinking of upgrading the stock super charger with Ford Racing Super Charger here is the link.. http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1012 I'm also looking to use this tuning, intake and cooling system from steeda... http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_gt500_ultimate_power_pak.php The S/C says it will give me 605 hp and the steeda power pack says it will increase it 100 hp ( I'm not do good with cars) but in theory this should give me over 700 hp or does it not work like that?
First of all the 2010 has increased HP over the 2007-2009 to 540 HP (at the crank) like the GT500 KR. The 2010 also has better cooling capacity as some of the dyno tests I have been reading - it doesn't appear to have the heat soak and lose HP after 1 or 2 dyno pulls like the 07-09s. Most of the guys adding upgrades on the 07-09s are updating the heat exchangers. As far as supercharger upgrades it really depends how much HP you want. I have a 2007 with a EVO stage II kit ($ 1,150) which is keeping the stock superchager and adding smaller pulley, idler, cold air induction and tune and it make 550 RWHP which would be low 600s at the crank. Of course the 2010 already has the cold air so you would just need the pulley, idler and tune. If you go to the Ford Racing TVS you won't get much more unless you put a smaller pulley on it. You could also go to Wipple's new 2.9 as it and the TVS (with smaller pulley) and they will fit under the stock hood. Wipple's 3.4 or Kenny Bell require different hood or notching the stock hood. Evolution also has a new lower pulley that is 10% larger and will also give you 4 more PSI. The cool thing about these cars is; depending how much you want to spend you can add HP with all bolt on stuff. Here is Evolution's link's for supercharge upgrades and the other for lower pulley, which is one of the leading providers of this stuff and their tunes are just plug in and upload! Good luck with your new Hot Rod! http://www.evoperform.com/shop/inde...=11_77&zenid=02c485716d706281d24b6c572808e144 http://www.evoperform.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_48&products_id=423
