HI there !! two quick questions for you guys . First , what is the stock lenght of the 67 GT500 push rods ?? which ones should i use ( 9.056 , 9.059 ,9.062 ... ) ?? i think there are 7 or 8 different for the FE engines . I need to buy a new oil pump for the Shelby , is the C0AZ-6600-A correct for my car ?? or the Melling M-57HV . Finally , do you recommend a high volume pump over a stock one ?? Thanks for your help .

I think what you are measuring as far as push rod length is is a variation due to normal wear. From .056 to .062 is only .006 which is well within the length tolerance. Push rod geometry is something that should not be taken for granted as it can play havoc on the inside of an engine. It usually only needs to be changed after either milling the heads or installing a very high lift camshaft.

As far as the oil pump goes, I always used the high volume pump. Ford factory specs for oil pressure is 40 to 55lbs at 2000 RPM. I had a 427 that would idle at 20 lbs but at 2000 had 50 lbs. I would use the 57HV.
