Which one? The blue 4spd driver? It sold off the lot, after it was bid to a $45,000 no sale. I suspect the sale price was right at $50.
Bid to $120,000 and the owner passed. He also had a Boss 9 that was bid to $200,000 and he passed. I suspect he wasn't a motivated seller, but rather someone invited to bring some attraction to the auction.
The 65 GT350 bid to 285K but did not sell. It was my old car, # 5S076. Seller wanted 350K. A buyer approached seller later to buy the car but it was no longer for sale because the seller had just sold the ZL1 for 800K and no longer felt a need to sell the 65.
It should be pointed out the car is now restored and a Shelby Club national champion along with being a Mustang Club of America Champion. It has very few (if any) reproduction parts.
Charley, you kicked the GT350 out of the Garage?? that was a fine Car! I guess after selling a ZL-1 you have to keep one Legend Around!!
I will agree with that statement! it is breathtaking. The COBRA has been sold and I am now tracking on some 66's. I got the itch for a screaming 289 Hi Po! although a 67 GT500 would not be hard to take either. the one advertised on this site in Germany is up to $90,000 now plus travel expenses. I wished him luck with the Sale and had to move away from that deal. too much work for the Money $$1000's ago!!
