Guy mabee oil drilling special--did Shelby help built it?

Historical question: I read that, around '54, Shelby got the Mabees, oil drillers, to pay for him to go to Europe to race
but I was wondering if Shelby actually helped the Mabee family develop the Mabee oil drilling special race car or came along later and became their consultant on possibly making a production version? I wonder if the car still exists? I think it was white or maybe canary yellow--still researching it.
