I'm talking the tractor trailer that is used by the Las Vegas Shelby factory to haul around the cars to events like Fabulous Fords Forever in Buena Park. It's got this great wrap-around mural on it that was made from assembled photos. Some of the photos are the early '50's when C. Shelby was lean and mean, and driving Ferraris and stuff, and then they photoshop those into much newer photos. It's like seeing a 30-second commercial on the life of Carroll Shelby. Jut wish it was in color. And then elsewhere on the truck is a solarized (grays dropped out) picture of Shelby with the ten gallon hat.
Back in the Fifites when C. Shelby raced for guys like John Edgar, he was fortunate enough to work for sponsors that plumbed for extra fancy tractor trailers as well as top of the line race cars so he's probably pretty proud of the trucks that haul his cars to displays.

WOW........ My Ideas keeps getting taken......LOL. If you do a search on here, you will see where I started a Thread wanting Photos of Shelby's and of Carroll Shelby so I can make them into Lemans Stripes for my Tribute Edition Shelby. This was a few Months ago. I was going to turn them into B&W Photos then have them printed on Vinyl that is 9 inches wide. About 250 Photos in all. Either way, I am still going to do it.
    David.

Imagine pullin a collection in that bad boy!!!
Is it currently owned by shelby autos or is it a private sale.
If private....how would one verify that it is a legit truck as opposed to a paintjob.
    Very Cool:thumbsup:

    Vern,

My neighbor and I found this truck in Canada. After 3 years of bugging the guy to sell it to us, he finally gave in. He needed some quick cash. We drove it 1800 miles back home to Phoenix!
We have been working for almost 3 months to verify this truck. It has an original COBRA oil pan, original COBRA LeManns valve covers, an original COBRA oval air filter, an original 6,000 rpm COBRA tach and an original COBRA wooden gear shift knob. The paint appears to be original also, not just a paint job. This truck is in incredible condition for 41 years old. We are running the VIN through the Ford archives in Michigan.
Bob Bondurant, John Morton and Bernie Kretzchmar have all verified the truck and even autographed the dash for us. Carroll Shelby has seen our pictures of the truck and wants to see it in person.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of this truck will go to Carroll Shelby's Childrens Foundation.

    Vern,

The Carroll Shelby Childrens Foundation has opened the bidding at $1 mil. Personally, I think we may be in the $100,000 range, if we are lucky. We are currently negotiating with the people from the RM Auctions. They want to combine the truck with CSX2011, which will also be on sale at the RM Auction in January. I have heard that they want to put the Cobra up on the bed of the truck for display purposes. Who knows, maybe the whole thing will fall through and we will have an old truck to drive around in.

    David,

I measured it last night and a Cobra will fit. It may hang over the rear a little, but it will fit!

That would make a cool photo op to have an un-restored Cobra on there then.

    How about this truck?

This is one of Carroll's newer play toys. It rides higher than a semi truck and is great for cruising down the street to pick up a sandwich!
