Bob, it looks like Jeff lined out pretty good what the motor is. One idea I had about the motor is, Holman Moody would stamp names into motors they built for customers. Gave them a way to know what it was, kind of like their form of vin coding. Maybe you can contact them and see what they have. I had a Boss 429 with the name PIERCE stamped on the passenger front of the block below where the cylinder head meets the block. Holman Moody still had the info on the motor.
