Hi guys For my R Model clone i thought,... where can i put my fuse box? And what fuses should i use? As you all know the original position in a Mustang/Shelby is hard to reach. Then i thought that i could put it behind the dash where the radio would sit. After it is installed it could be covered by the radio delete plate if i don´t want anybody to see it and make the interior look original. And this is what i came out with! Tell my what you think?? Bye Jerry Parts for it you can get here: www.aircraftspruce.com
Very nice work Jerry. Nice touch using aircraft grade parts. I think your choice of location makes sense as well. Did the factory race cars use the standard wire harness or did hey use something else? I'd guess that they used what was in the car when they got it from Ford.
Hi Roy Thank you very very much! I have no idea what they used probably the original stuff like you said. Can not wait to put all together! Bye Jerry
Nice work as usual Jerry, However, I don't think R-models used the radio block off plate. At least none I have seen. It was probably mounted when they got the cars from Ford but removed when the horn switch was mounted. Anybody else has any knowledge of this? Texas Swede
Just curious, is the only fuse box you plan to have? Have you done away with the standard box & wiring?
Hi racingdivision All the original wiring will be deleted and renewed. But i try to make the new harness look like the original one. The emer stands for emergency flasher and the plt stands for park lights wich means that is the original U.S. version of the headlights with park lights in the blinkers. In center position the lights will work like the german law wants it wich means blinker no lights and the park light in the headlights. The puel pumps switch will only remain on on position when there is power on the switch. If someone pulls the saftey switch (one on the front and one on the back) power will be off and the switch will jump to off position. It is a magnetic switch. Pretty cool don´t you think?? Bye Jerry
