Hi Everyone, I'm in SoCal and have had many muscle cars in the past including Mustangs, Mach 1, but no Shelby. Yet. I have been on the hunt to find a car I knew in the 70's, and today I located the sun baked car. The owner wasn't available, but I was able to see the car in the yard, and get a photo of the Shelby Serial # 5s444 on the drivers side inner fender panel. I know it's a 65 or 66 GT 350 w/289 4 speed. It's complete but baked, rotted, and minimal surface rust as the car has been in the SoCal desert for it's whole life, and in need of complete restoration. A perfect project car that I have been looking for. Can you help me with the Serial # to identify year, or any other info ? Thanks, Doublem
doublem, Decoding the Vin you provided- 5=1965 S=street version 444= the 444th car of 1965. I do not have a registry available right now so cannot offer any other information. Jay
Re: Doublem '65 GT350 Thanks Jay for the info on the '65. I will do my best buy this car and bring this 2 owner car home and start the restoration. Doublem
The car only shows the original owner in the 1997 Registry. I have not seen the new registry, but I would recommend you contact SAAC before you purchase the car.
