    Hey Guys,

The interior vent grilles on my '68 are pitted like they usually will. I ordered some replacement panels with the grilles, but they have a textured finish where as my panels are smooth and painted. The only repop grilles I can find are chromed plastic. Is there a way to reattach the originals if removed for rechroming? I was hoping to drill and tap for screws where the posts are, but the posts are smaller diameter than I expected. It would be a very small screw.

Are the plastic grilles "concours" acceptable? What do y'all think?

I do not believe the Plastic Grilles would be "Concours" acceptable. I believe the Grilles are Chrome Plated "Pot Metal" which might make it hard to Drill & Tap (very soft metal). Are you sure that your panels were never textured? Maybe they were sanded smooth for repainting by a previous owner.
    David.

I've been able to use epoxy on this post locations (a decent build up to retain them

    Worked for me ;)
