Hi shelby experts - I am looking at purchase of my first Shelby Mustang, and this listing on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=4568897217&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

I do not know Shelby cars well, but my preliminary research tells me this car may be fairly priced, if it is in stated condition. I would appreciate a referral to someone who is close to Trenton, NJ, and knows Shelby Mustangs that could look at the car an let me know the true condition of car, correctness, etc, etc. Thanks.

The SAAC 68' registrar is a Jersey boy, email at 68registrar@saac.com. It's a vaguely worded ad, especially about the engine. To me, it reads that is not a matching block or heads. Anyone feel free to correct me, I've read the ad a few times and can't decide. But that shouldn't matter, looks like a nice resto job, and with today's prices, seems about right. The Shelbys of 65-70 don't seem to have their prices affected by being NOM, unlike the Corvette crowd that would not honor such a beast if there is an incorrect nut under the frame somewhere! Definitely check it out, or ask the registrar for maybe a local contact who could do so. Evil Bay is definitely a "caveat emptor" arena.

You should definitely get someone knowledgeable to check it out for you. Try searching to read some of the other posts regarding this subject. The following are examples:
    http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130
    http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1826

In one of the posts Jim Elsmore recommends Shelby Vehicle Certification.
He says to check with the guys at the following website.
    http://www.raicorp.biz/sva.html
There are about 12 certifiers around the country..

Good luck with your search! I hope this helps and you find what you're looking for.
