Hello all. I have found what is supposed to be a Shelby GT500 here in Thailand. The engine and chassis numbers are, 1T01F-129705 I am assuming it's not genuine, but in the hope I am wrong, can anyone help with identifcation, and tell me what to look for? Already spent a couple of hours with google, with no definate results.
It is not a 65 through 70 Shelby. It looks like a modified 71-72-73 Ford Mustang. However, do a Google search about the Shelby Europa.
http://www.ponysite.de/sheleur.htm Shelby Europia... most appear to be Dearborn built not Metuchen http://svammelsurium.blogg.se/2008/december/de-forgatna-del-36-shelby-europa.html I remember another topic on that car from years past.... can't put my finger on it though...its been a topic of discussion before ...
Thank you for taking the time to help. My conclusion is it's a copy, too many details incorrect. It's still a nice car, but the asking price much too high, in US$28,000
What dealer nameplate is on the back of that car? I would agree it does not appear to be a Europa, too many details out of line.
Yea, it's not real, it was just a dream!! This is Thailand, everything is fake, even 50% of the women are fake here!
No disrespect meant, you asked a question, I confirmed the correct answer. Bill S. PS: There is at least one original Shelby (a 69 GT350 fastback) in Thailand that I know of. Not sure if there are others......
Wow, that's interesting. Actually it's surprising what does turn up here, a couple of years ago I saw a Delorean, first one I have ever seen in the flesh. I appreciate you all taking the time to help me with my enquiry.
