Not sure if you guys saw this at SEMA in Vegas, but if not here is a pic of CS and his tribute sign authorized by the folks at Paxton/Vortech. It's a great photo of CS from turn 7 at Riverside October 1960. Only three of these were produced. 6f09k
Does anyone know what the text is on the sign? Or does any one have a high resolution photo of the sign they could post? robin
I have the Paxton/Vortech poster seen in the photo that I picked up at a SAAC convention. The text reads: As the man who introduced what is arguably the most significant sports car in history, Carroll Shelby revved-up the world with his V-8 Cobra. His racing history is legendary, from the 1959 LeMans win driving an Aston Martin to capturing the World Manufacturer's Championship in 1965 with the Daytona Coupe. He has built cars with each of Detroit's Big Three automakers and was instrumental in Ford's Lemans-winning GT40 achievement in the '60s. In more recent years, he founded a charity to help needy children receive organ transplants. Carroll Shelby's accomplishments comman respect from the enthusiast and anyone connected with the industry worldwide. Proud supplier of superchargers to Carroll Shelby for more than 40 years. Paxton Automotive Corporation The poster might be available from paxtonauto.com
66 is correct on the text. The photo however is not on paper and was one of three made on metal for Shelby to auction for his charity. Two were sent to SEMA where this photo was taken. 6f09k
