I ordered one of these filters and have had some issues with the car ('66 GT350) when using this filter. I was wondering if anyone else has used them. This particular one has a drop down base plate to accommodate the larger 3" filter. I have had a K&N in my daily driver for years and it's been great but I have not been able to get the '66 to run well with the K&N. I thought it was supposed to increase airflow, especially with the larger size, but instead I think it is limiting air flow.

Anyway, with a regular (although very old and dirty) paper air filter, the engine runs fine. The engine runs fine with no filter as well. With the K&N, the engine runs ok for a very short while and then stutters and dies. I don't really know how to adjust the carborator but I don't mind trying if anyone thinks this might help.

I should probably just ditch this thing and get another regular filter but I figured I would try to work with it as long as I have it. Any suggestions???

    Hi rshelby

I put the same on my Mustang and didn´t have any problems at all.
It runs better than before. Maybe run your carb a bit richer would help?
Here is a picture of the filter wich will come on my R Model i think
the engine will get even more air with this one! ;o)

    Bye Jerry

    Hi Randall

Make sure when you put the top of the air cleaner on you are not blocking the air tubes sticking up on the carb. If you are blocking them the car will run
bad and will not idle and die.
