I'm assuming something, could be wright or wrong I don't know. When looking at a 68 K.R. high Shelby ser. #-- 3800--4000 vin # in the 211000 area would the rear fender reflectors be the new oblong type that came on the late mustangs & Shelbys 0f 68 ? as upposed to the 500's that had the square type ?? ---S.
All Kr s have the external oblong reflectors , only early shelby cars up to i believe 14 15 of feb have the square with chrome surround type ! THX, John
Ahh, I was looking at that car last night . it looks a nice car , i think its not correct , as the rear reflectorors are wrong and indeed it has the wrong snorkle on it , also its not that correct paint wise under neath , , oops i will get in trouble now ! THX, Jb
Best case scenario is both of the quarters have been changed. I won't go down the path of the worst case scenario, but you have to wonder with a nice new shiny door tag . In my opinion probably a wee bit overpriced. I know of an original KR that was sold for less than half that sticker in the recent past. Someone's fishing.....
So funny this came up. I know the ceratin "color" car you are talking about on Ebay. When I sent the link to the shop restoring my cars the first thing he came back with was: 1.replaced quarters 2.Wrong Snorkel 3.replacement engine 4.New shiny door tag I actually contacted the seller of this car and asked about the quarters and Snorkel. He is just a broker for the seller but the seller insisted the quarters were original and the snorkel was correct. This is what I was talking about, more educated buyers not paying top dollar for just any car. I don't think the starter delay is correct either, hard to see. I wonder if it has the hard to find A-B carb KR Automatics came with. Nice car but not worth what they are asking.
