I just bought an 08 GT-C at the end of April. My first Mustang. Im no stranger to modifying cars but they've all been vintage Fords, 31 model a coupe, 40 Deluxe coupe. Now when I drove the Stang I was pretty impressed with the handling and the power. Probably no surprise considering my other cars had dropped axles and bias ply tires... But any who....the hot rodder in me cant leave well enough alone. Im ready to put a little more power to the pavement. Now Im sure most will say to go supercharged...but I am bound and determined to stay N/A. The car is used for...well it gets used lets say. Im looking at adding the FRRP intake, long tube stepped headers, and cams....plus appropriate tune of course. Oh plus a gear change to 3.73. So my question to you fine folks out there is what cams would work best? My aim is for this car to pull double duty street and track/autox. When doing so I know comprimises are made for both.
Im looking for a gain of hopefully at least 50 hp. Plus some good gains in torque. Im wondering though if my choice for the intake is counterproductive in the torque considering its short runner design. Am I being toO ambitious with the number or is that on the conservative side? Im not really looking to get into the 4.6 really deep, because Ive got plans for a Coyote to replace it down the road. Looking for any input...Thanks.
