The funeral service held in honor of Carroll Shelby took place on August 29, 2012 in Leesburg, TX. A small group of family and friends gathered in the rural East Texas town of Leesburg, TX to honor the life of Carroll Shelby. Several family members and friends shared stories and paid tribute to the man who was the source of many fond memories and will be missed greatly. Known by many for his accomplishments in the automotive world, he was also a family man and dear friend. He never lost touch with his roots in East Texas, visiting often and requesting his service to be held in the place he was born. The service was a fitting tribute to the man.
