hi everyone - could someone please advise me on the modern day equivalent
for the Goodyear Blue Dot tyre standard in 1966. Presently my car 6s349 has
an older set of BFGoodrich tyres (215/60/15) which have become very hard with age i suspect and are very slippery in wet weather. They are fitted to a set of 1965 15inch Shelby-Cragar wheels and i was hoping to purchase a modern/nostalgic set of tyres to match - what do you recommend???
They would be for the street only - thanks snelly

thanks Mike - i did try here in NZ at our local Goodyear tyre shop but they
said after a bit of research (they had never heard of them to begin with)
that they didn't make 'em any more...........i'll get them to try a bit harder.
    cheers

thanks Dave, i was hoping to be able to get some in New Zealand from a Goodyear dealer...........but if i can't i will certainly try Tony. (the only trouble is that the freight cost to here will be as much as the tyres themselves unfortunately) We met him at SAAC30 at Calif Speedway and he seemed only too happy to help us overseas chaps. cheers.

    Hi,
Bought 5 repo. blue dots from Kelsey Tires that I
use on my 65 GT350. They costed as said $400 each
but are worth it. Before I bought them I used 7.75x15
Goodyear Power Cushions for a 1965 Corvette and glued
a blue dot rubber piece (size of a quarter) on the side
of each tire. They costed $150 each from the same vendor.
He (Kelsey) has a web site but the blue dots are not listed there
for some strange reason. The diameter of the blue dot is 27.61"
    Good luck!

Goodyear made a bunch of those tires, apparently way more than they ever used. I read somewhere (I think it was in and old issue of the Marque) that they released them for use on farm tractors.

Did that happen to be an April issue?
