Just got my new Muscle Machines magazine in the mail . They have a big write on EXP500. It Is factory experimental 1of1 , fuel injected independent -rear-suspended 1968 Shelby Mustang Coupe.

I saw this baby sitting right beside the first 65 GT350 in the back garage at Barret Jackson's showroom in Scottsdale in April.

A good friend of mine has blueprints from Shelby of the fuel injection system and the IRS for the car. He has about 200 old blueprints, they are awesome.

It certainly is a unique car. I can't deny it was probably worked on by Shelby Automotive engineers, but I think calling a Shelby is a stretch. The car was built in Dearborn (all other 69 Shelbys were built in NJ). The build sheet does not say SHELBY UNIT on it like every other 1968 Shelby. Unique yes, Shelby well.......:guns:
