It was a purple (yeah appears to be pretty much the same color as Chrysler had, called Plum Crazy) show car with a hatchback but the nose appears to be pretty much '69 Shelby body panels. I can find pictures of it on net but can't find out whether it was shown before the first '69 Shelby. Even that, however, wouldn't show if it was designed first. And back in those days they didn't give credit to designers only the design chief who I think was Eugene Bordinat. True Larry Shinoda got credit for the cars he did, like the Boss 302 but only because he was a good self promoter and snuck out some design drawings and pictures of clay models (he told me so himself). Also wondering if the Milano was a running car or just a pushmobile?

PS There were two other cars or maybe three called Quarterhorses, which also used Shelby front clip body panels but from what I've read those were done after the '69 Shelby. At least one is in the hands of a collector.

It was shown first in Feb. 1970, the aftershow press release of the Milano has the date 11/6/70 on it if that indicates anything.

So in all likelihood it was done after the '69 Shelby design was "hardened." Never seen a clay model shot of a '69 Shelby though Consumer Guide has various clay model shots in their books on Mustang but not one even close to a '69. The design didn't come out of thin air--it's too integrated and sophisticated for that!
