I have been having a problem like many on here with my stripes on my 07' GT. I have taked to Ford and got nowhere. I emailed Shelby a week or so back. I received a ph. number to call to find out if my car is still under warranty. Last Monday I was on my way to a meeting at work. As I was waiting to merge from one Hwy. to another and all of a sudden some woman shoots from the right lane across into my lane a hit me on my rear bumper. She really did not do too much damage to my car. The woman's insurance had expired on the 15th. she hit me on the 19th. I talked to my Ins. adjuster Monday. I told him I was really worried about the stripes on the bumper not matching the rest of the car. I showed him the spots and fadeing on the top of the car. He told me that he thought they could get it to look right. He assured me that they would make it right. Has anybody here had all there stripes replaced thru insurance after having one section of there car damaged. If I don't like how it looks when I get it back can I just refuse to accept the car because the new trunk stripes look different than the rest of the car. Has anybody been in this situation before. If there are any Ins. adjusters out there any advice you can offer on how to handle this. I don't see how they can make the new stripe on the bumper match the rest of the car.

    Been there (somewhat).

Insurance folks tend to cut the repair bill with the body shop without you knowing it. So check in often at the shop, I went to the shop twice a week or at least every ten days. My repair took six weeks.

Most shops can add the removal & replacement of the other stripes at a small up cost to you. You just might have to "pony" up the difference, unfortunately. You might look at having them painted back on as well.

Also, pick a "good" repair facility. It makes the difference. My insurance company had "preferred" shops that included lifetime coverage of the repaired area. Something to look into, especially if the stripes area know issue.

Hope this helps and hope for a decent recovery.

Thanks. I'm going to use the shop they work with for the lifetime warranty. I told the adjuster that I would not be aganist the shop putting aftermarket stripes on the whole car as long as they were the right width and they matched the hood scoop. The Shelby stripes are crap anyway. I did not tell the adjuster this but I would also be willing to pay a little extra out of pocket to make it look right.

    Dlancer,
I just went through a huge ordeal with trying to get my 07 SGT striped after a fender-bender. The bottom line is the shops/insurance will only replace the stripes that were affected by the damage.

This sucks because the stripes come in different kits. For example, your back bumper will come in two pieces, the bumper and the rear deck. The insurance/shops will only replace your bumper stripe and give you the rear/trunk stripes to install yourself.

Lastly, the kits, especially the doors (my case), are a different size today than before, so you will have one stripe longer (looks much better) and one shorter stripe (sucks big time) and Shelby sent them four sets - all the same.

Both the insurance and shop didn't give a Sh*&! So now I have to have have the car restriped myself. Tommorrow, I'm sending the stripes back to Shelby. Not only are the stripes (made by ORACAL) absolute crap. Now Shelby has changed the size. Ugh!!

Out of curiosity, what is your recourse with the lady with the expired insurance?

I was told by my insurance that they would fix my car and that I would have to pay my $250.00 deductible. They would go after the other driver to recover the cost of the repair including my deductible. Other than that I could sue the other driver. They also told me they could have her license taken away.

In Texas if you get caught without insurance they take your car away also. I would check into putting a mechanic's lien against her and her car. She can never do anything with her car until she pays you first. That includes trading or selling it.
