The new Shelby GT-H convertible was revealed and sold tonight at the 2007 Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction! The car has 319 H.P./automatic and was accompanied to the auction block with none other than the man himself, Carroll Shelby, at the wheel. The Buyer, Ron Pratte of Chandler, Arizona,(aka- Buyer of the famed Supersnake, Futureliner, 2007 GT 500 #1, 2007 Shelby GT #1, and the Last StingRay.) aquired the car over the phone for a cool $250,000 plus 10% buyer fee. The car in question was the first and only to be offered new for public sale and featured a custom Fender Guitar and the shirt off of Carroll Shelby's back(signed). 499 of these cars will be built and sent to hertz locations in select parts of the country. Really a sweet ride!!!!!!!
Just as a slight correction, the car itself was not sold last night, but the "right to buy" the very first (Hertz convertible #1) car was for that 250K. Carrol Shelby stated he would give the high bidder his hat (signed) from last night, his Ford jacket(also signed), and would sign the car for the successful buyer at that time. Bill S.
Not until after it left the auction block and was placed to the right of the auction exit door . I was there. Yours In Fords, Bill S.
They showed in clear view on camera that the glove box was already signed when the car was on the block. Best Regards Vern
HHHHHmmmmmm, interesting, as I saw CS sign his name on the dash off stage afterwards (when he came down from the skybox around 9:20pm)...Wonder what the real story behind that one is.....Duplicates perhaps, one for Craig and one for the potential buyer of the car?
Why would this matter? Do you honestly think the new 'guy with the right to buy' is not going to buy the car. I just dont think it is necessary to correct me on this matter, rather aggressive and uncalled for really. Only the very best, Vern
Vern, I did not mean to offend you, I'm just a stickler for the details, and spent the last several days bidding (and buying) at the WPB auction. Nothing more, nothing less, so sit back, relax, and enjoy life for what it is. Yours In Fords, Bill S.
