I had a great time over at a friends house on New Years night. The usual local 'Aloha Cobra Club' guys and gals were there. Kei drove his newly acquired GT-H for us all to drool over. Former rental car (of course) from Maui, bought direct from Hertz. I understand they sold two. How come HE found out about the sale and I didn't? Well it seems SAAC membership has it priviligies that go beyond forums and news letters. I better get signed up to stay in the loop! I might have bought that GT-H for myself... Ernie
That sounds like a special opportunity for two Hawaii residents. Sorry to hear it wasn't you. Congrats to whomever got them. I'm sure shipping one out from the mainland would carry a hefty price. Randall
Sorry that I did not have everyone in the Aloha Mustang & Shelby Club of Hawaii on my email list, but I did send a notice out after I received the call from Tracy at Hertz in Honolulu about the cars. The second GT-H has also sold. Both cars went in a matter of a couple days. The cars were from Maui, had less than 10,000 miles (can't go far on a small island) and were never sent to California for auction as the 5 Honolulu rental GT-H cars were. They are in nice shape and may come up at the Honolulu Kruse International auction in February.
Slowly puts 2 and 2 together equals,,, DON J.? Get me on the list, I need to do TWO things in the very near future. Pay my dues for the Aloha Mustang and Shelby Club AND join SAAC (gotta stay in the loop). Then theres the annual contribution to CC, join Team Shelby, whew, I may need to take out a loan. E-mail: CLUB427@MSN.COM By the way, I thought all the Hertz 2006 cars had all ready been sold, the Maui car was a 2006 I believe. Are the 2007 models coming up for sale now?
Ernie, take a loan but don't sell the 427. I have recorded your email. The Hertz cars are the two 2006 GT-H Maui cars that were never shipped to California. The 2007 convertible GT-H cars are still being rented and will be until late spring or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Honolulu rentals will probably go to California for sale. Not sure about the Maui cars. The local office has little control over the regional decisions. There are still a few other 2006 GT-H cars that come up for sale on the mainland as they are released. Usually the go to auto dealer auction bid. As I understand the arrangement, if no dealers offer the minimum, the Hertz lot can sell them directly. Don
