    Hello!
Any opinions on the 2007 Shelby GT? I had a dealer contact me today and offer me a purchase price of 32k for a black one. Why so cheap? I'd prefer white.

Also, what about a 2007 Black Shelby GT500, another dealer told me he wants it out of his showroom and said is willing to negotiate with a number close to sticker.

Which car is better to purchase for a collector/enthusiast?

    Well, of the two models:
For Power....the GT 500 hands Down at 500HP vs the 325 HP of the Shelby GT.
    Now for the other stuff:
Ford Built the Shelby GT 500. Ford shiped Mustang GT's to Las Vegas for Shelby to build the Shelby GT-H and the Shelby GT.

So the choice is simple............ buy both.
    David.

Well, 32K for a new 2007 Shelby GT is not bad at all. The dealers around here (Tallahassee, FL) are still trying to get $10K over. The one here in Tallahassee has a USED GT 500 that are are wanting $60K for.

32 seems very cheap. I had an offer of 39K right away from a Twin Cities dealer, but hard to think he'd come down to 32.

    I'm sure learning about prices!

    pricing

Hey Doug, I hear 'ya. This is the #1 thing that's interfering with my purchase right now. While I "think" I want to wait for the GT-H convertible once they are released (by the way, I'd been in contact with Hertz and they said it would be in Jan, at least until they stopped returning my E-mails about it altogether), I know A.) The prices will be so high early in the year; that, B.) I'd have to wait until about this time next year to see IF they come down; and, C.) I'd lose an entire year's driving/fun time.

So if you can put a dollar value on the fun you've had with your car this summer already I'd say it's worth it.

Quick story: After returning from Colo where I rented the GT-H convertible and decided I needed a GT of some kind, I stumped on one with 500 for sale by a guy who bought it from his bro in law's Ford dealership so you know got a good deal. The lowest he would/could go was 42,500. I called the local dealer with the same thing on the lot (and it still is) and without any bargaining he offered it to me at 39. Who would have thunk it?

So here I am trying to figure out what to get among the Shelby's and realize it's hard to decide since the prices fluctuate so much. I even thought MSRP on an 08 convertible GT (blu/silv) would be great until 2 dealers said, sure, they'd see at MSRP - making me wonder if one could get them for even lower?

I'm new at the Shelby game, so I'm learning from all of you -- but you have a car, I don't - so I can talk smart all day long about the prices. But it is disconcerting the prices vary so much. To be honest (and don't hate me for this), but one reason I contemplated a Saturn Sky was ... the price is the price, period.

Scott......If ya really want one then ya have to get one.

Trust me! I wanted one back in the late 60's (when I was 16) and my Dad said NO!....Smart man, I wouldn't be here today if I had one then, anyway Pop's gone now, Lord knows I miss him, but he knew that I loved Mustangs and that someday I would have another one. He was right! I bought my dream and take Pop with me everytime I drive it.

    Peace
