Hello to All, I'm new to the Shelby forum. I have owned many musclecars across all makes so I hope you can appreciate and respect that I like not only Shelby cars. I'm thinking about a purchase and wanted some expert advice. I have access to purchase one of the 85 4 speed GT-350 GT Hertz cars and I would like to know what this car is wroth in today's market. It is in excellent condition. Thanks
that would depend on whether it is a restored car in excellent condition, or an original car in excellent condition. A car with all original body panels, all original unique Shelby pieces, and all original drivetrain would be worth considerably more, maybe double or more than a car that has been restored with all new body panels, reproduction Shelby items, & has a non-original drivetrain. It has been restored and in excellent shape. It is also 1 0f 11 that got the paxton supercharger option and an original 4 speed car. (1 0f 85)
sounds like a nice car. Do you know how much of the body (& drivetrain) is original, and how many of the Shelby parts have been replaced? Were you able to get any "before" photos of the car prior to the restoration? You will find some people only care about the Shelby VIN listed on the title, while others will be more interested in the originality. If the car is has all original everything it could be worth over 100K in a normal market. But since the recession I haven't seen any cars going for top dollar. A lot of sellers are out there fishing for a buyer, but no one seems willing to take less than last years top dollar. So sales seem stagnant. Z. Ray
