Hi Everyone: I've been a Shelby owner and SAAC member, although currently am not a SAAC member, for around 15 years or so. I've been to a couple SAAC national events and even Carroll's 75th birthday party with a group of great guys from the Colorado Regional SAAC club and am now kinda stranded in the midwest with very few Shelbys in the area. The 2008 GT500KR is way cool and has me chomping at the bit to get one, but there's no way I'm paying the crazy ching they are supposedly going for and I would never consider it even close to a replacement to the Shelbys I already own. Anyway, I mention that as I was googling the new Shelby GT500KR when I stumbled onto this site. It seems a lot of good and bad is going on in the Shelby world now a days. I find it very interesting to read many of your comments on the SAAC and "UP" situations. It just goes to show you how easy it is to get emotional about the world. I've always loved fast/cool cars and Shelbys have been high on my list for many years. I really enjoy my cars, but don't get to drive them nearly enough, and I like to keep them close to original, but I'm not a fanatic and I couldn't even tell you my Shelby vin numbers without looking at my insurance cards. They are just way cool muscle cars and enjoy them at the track, at car shows, cruising around town or sitting in the garage. Anway, I find this forum very interesting and will read it often and most likely only make an occasional post. However, if I can figure out how to post pictures, I will post some on the appropriate forum. Scott
Nice picture of a couple of your cars. That is one heck of a collection in your profile. Do you still own all of those?
67GT500 I gotta like your handle!!! Yes I still have them all. I try not to get emotionally attached when I look at potential cars to purchase and I haven't bought one for several years, but it's a different story once I own them. I have had them for many years and even though current values are crazy and some offers I have received are just as crazy, I can't part with them. I just hope they don't go the way of the Model A's and T's of the older generation of collectors. I see we both share the same passion and even the same Noble Steed, the 67GT500. I look forward to reading the many posts and forums on this site. Scott
