Sup folks, I picked my Shelby Dakota up this past weekend, (white #1030) drove it home 370 miles trouble free, I'm looking forward to spending the winter getting to know her better, paint needs redone, starting to pell on the edge of the hood and roof, replace the head liner and after that just give it a once over, truck is really in nice shape.
Re: New Owner!! Welcome, sounds like a great project, got any pictures? When you repaint it give Dave at Positive Impressions ( www.unleashedbyshelby.com ) a call, he sells a complete decal package for the truck to replace the originals and his work is great. I've seen them in person and they look as good as the factory ones and cost a lot less. Not trying to sound like an advertisement, I just know that finding parts for these older dodges is getting to be a challenge.
Re: New Owner!! Thats funny, I spoke to him 2 weeks ago, guy sounds like he knows his decals!....I have a 70 Ford I have to rap up, will take a couple of weeks to knock out and then I will go full blast on the Shelby Dakota, I haven't shot any pics yet but I will.
Re: New Owner!! Congrats! I myself just picked up a red Shelby Dakota on the 16th of this month. #894 to be exact. The paint is excellent on mine just needs a new set of decals which were included with the purchase. I never realized how nice these trucks were until now. Carroll Shelby is the man! Enjoy your truck!
Re: New Owner!! Was that the one that was on eBay? Had the buy it now price? If so, it looked really nice! Thats where I found mine, it had a buy it now $4,500.00 and I jumped on it just hours after it hit the web and VERY happy I did!
Re: New Owner!! Here's a link to mine, not sure how to post pics here but I have some on this site. http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3436
Re: New Owner!! No mine was not the one on ebay. This one was advertised on TurboDodge.com for sale. I had seen the truck before at a Shelby Dodge event. This one has seen some outstanding care over it's life. I'll try to post a picture but I may have to resize it before I can.
