Hi everyone, I've gone and done it- joined another forum! I spend a lot of time at fordsix.com, but have a few questions that I thought might be better asked here. I don't have a shelby, but did send off my 427 cobra poster to have the man himself sign it. Everyone that visits my house notices and compliments it! My dad is the original owner of a '65 fastback that he bought new. He ordered it in the early spring (april, I think) of '65 and it was lost for a month in shipping By the time he got it, the GT package had come out I don't see many others like it- it's Caspian blue, with the 2bbl 289 and manual 3 speed but also has the special handling package and disc brakes. It's been dry storage awaiting restoration for some time now- hopefully we'll start soon. My car is a '64 falcon 2dr sedan- at the moment my daily driver but hopefully will return it to weekend cruising status soon. It started out as a 170/3speed, but almost everyting has been changed. It currently has a 8 inch rear (3.0 gears), Lokar-shifted C-4, dropped front spindles with granada brakes, and the Pro-motorsport wedge kit. I've got stock v-8 coils up front with 1.5 coils cut out and they seem to be a good choice, but the mustang's plus 4 leaf GT springs out back are too stiff for my taste. I am currently running a rebuilt (stock for now) 200 six, but plan to modify it with an aussie or Argentinian 2-v head down the road. I joined this forum in my quest to get get advice on how to get better results from the suspension modes I've made so far as the car feel's like it is not meeting it's pontential and need's a lot of fine tuning. See you on the boards! Sedanman Kenmore, WA.
Hey Sedanman, How about an update to your Falcon project. And how is that Mustang coming along? robin
Hi Robin, It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since I posted here- kind of forgot about it! Right around February or March I had my steering box rebuilt, and then injured my back. The car seem's to handle worse than before, but I'm not sure if that's due to a problem in the box or the worsening alignment issues due to the poor fitment of the upper control arms. I spent all spring and summer in P/T for my back, and then other things just kept me distracted. I've really made no progress on the car, although it get's driven occasionally. I installed a used engine to get me through last winter- it was suppossedly rebuilt but has leaks and low compression so I'm debating my next move. I've got an economy car for transportation now, so the Falcon's hibernating for the winter. My dad's fastback has not been touched since it had frame/structural work done about 2 years ago- it's pretty much a rolling shell right now. Luckily both cars are inside and out of the weather. I'm unsure of the future of both cars - I'm hesitating a bit on the Falcon as I have a feeling it will have to be sold to pay for work on the fastback (it's a family heirloom, so if one car goes it stays!), but I'm in no hurry to do so since that project is on hold.
