Not a Shelby Mustang but still a million dollar Mustang (in my humble opinion)

Way back in the Sixties L. Scott Bailey, the publisher of Automobile Quarterly hired Bertone in Italy to rebody a Mustang. The result was a beautiful blue car I saw once parked at Ford Motor Co. But I understand it went missing and even poor ol' Scott was seen running ads to try and find it. Though the nose looks like the Mazda RX-2 (also secretly designed by Bertone and probably Giugiaro at Bertone) the rest is very distinctive. It was a light turquoise blue. I was wondering if it has surfaced somewhere recently and I didn't notice. Usually when those old dream cars surface it is on the lawn at Pebble Beach. I know the Thunderbird Italiane resurfaced recently but that's only a light customization not a nose to tail redesign like the Bertone Mustang.

Basing its value on its rarity (one of a kind) and the career of Giugiaro

Having recently seen other long-lost concept cars come
out of the woods and appear at Pebble Beach, such as the XNR, Chrysler powered, the
Lincoln Indianapolis, etc. I think , depending on condition, the Bertone Mustang could fetch a million. Maybe the test of Giugiaro's "pull" (making collectors want to own a Giugiaro original) will be seen in what they get for the Bizzarrini Manta, that's one of his designs, which will be auctioned at Monterey. What hurts the Bertone Mustang is the fact the Mazda RX2 used the same nose and the Mazda RX-4 used the side profile so it's not as interesting as if it existed as a one-off shape like the Manta. I am glad to know its whereabouts are known--it would make a good story if the present owner decides to take it to an event.
