what is the correct oil pressure sender for a 69 gt 500? my car presently has the original gold ford scripted sender but have been told that it requires the faria style sender to properly register pressure to the faria guage. I always thought the ford sender was correct. Thanks for any input. Lu
The assemblyline sender on the 69 GT350 or 500 was the bell shaped Ford sender that has the FOMOCO in block letters not the one like used on the 66 GT350's that have the FOMOCO in the script letters(cursive like). This 69 sender is commonly confused with the sender used on 68 Shelby's. 1968 Shelby's used Stewart Warner electical oil pressure gauge that needed the special Stewart Warner sender with the rubber boot to read right. The SW sender was only used that one year on the Shelby Mustang. FYI the SW sender was also used on the SW gauge equipped street Cobras.
