well it still hasn't been "sold" yet .... don't think carfax would show anything unless it goes to the salvage pool

I really HOPE someone, somewhere, is keeping a list of these cars that've been damaged--especially those seriously damaged (how much does it take to get a $150,000 car totalled?). I wouldn't want to risk either my body OR my bank account buying a used one without having a serious professional inspection done, I think.

I wonder if the dealership's gonna advertise that GT as a "smokin' deal"....

OTOH, I can't generate much enthusiasm for joking about this one, the way it turned out.

    Hey this is the norm...
More and more people have been really upset with Ford and its
affecting the bottom line. I personally have had 3 people get
screwed by 3 different ford dealers..Where they hired a lawyer. All
three paid cash for a car/truck. When they went to pick up their
hard plates they were told they still owed 1500 for verious reasons.
They were told they would not get their hard plates if it was not
paid..They were told to return the car to the dealership. All three
told the dealers to Fu*K off and hired a lawyer. After a letter to ford
was sent, they call and said it was ok to pick up their tags, their
car/truck was paid in full. I hear this is a common trick by dealers
to get an extra $$ out of you...Its not just with ford...
They just picked on the wrong person in this case and he tourched
    the place...

Cevon et al. I know of 2 dealerships in this area that were taken from the
owner for doing that exact thing. No warning, Ford just came in and told
the owner to get out. Not sure if they were compensated or not, but both
men lost thriving dealerships simply because they got greedy and rather
than settling for $1K per vehicle profit they wanted $2K. (Those profit
    margins are a guess, btw)

I bought a brand new Bronco II back in 87. The traany went as I found out
later it was made by Mitsubishi for a 2.0 liter car. The tranny couldn't
handle the loads for which I bought the vehicle for. Ford tried to squeal
out of it. and we had so many problems trying to get it fixed and getting a
loaner of a like vehicle. I have not bought a ford since.

  11. i think you guys might re-think the dealerships you are doing business with.
I have 3 dealerships in town and they bend over backwards whenever theres
a problem. I burned a bearing in my Super duty rear end, it was out of
warranty 2 years and they fixed it no charge, . My friend had a problem
with his at 50,000 miles and they ended up ordering him a new truck no
    charge.

have that attitude...They even said they would order me a gt500 at
MSRp..Ive heard that before.,.They sold their gt40 at MSRP a
month ago...said they did not want to make that mistake
again...hehehe...maybe they are standing by their word...time will

I don't think that Ford do that...... to me that would be considered price
    fixing.....

I know in my business which I am the franchisee..... the franchisor can
"strongly suggest", even "threaten" as to your prices, but they can't
directly force me to make anything my price...

I bet there were some other issues with these dealerships....

  14. I have seen where a gas company came in and removed the franchise from an
owner who was cought dealing customer credit card information out the back door.
they came in and removed all signage and painted out the identifying colors.
I do not belive that ford could take the dealership, but I belive they could
disolve the relation ship on the spot to preserve the ford name

McDonald's also has the rights to take the franchise away from a franchisee
for any number of reasons. AND they don't refund the franchise fee either.
    Check the franchise contract.

I can give you the names of the Ford Dealerships that Ford removed the
owners from if anyone wants them.
