I do not remember ever reading about who designed the Shelby Mustangs. Who designed the quarter windows for '66, the taillights, hood, front facia for '67, '68, '69 etc? Were these designs done by Ford or were they done inhouse at Shelby American? Has any acknowledgement ever been given to the designer(s). Thanks for any info.

The '67 and '68 body style Shelby was designed by
    Chuck McHose and Pete Stacey.

I have not found out who designed the '69 but it may have been the same designer who did the Mustang Milano show car which had the same nose. It's one of those chicken vs. the egg deals, which came first , the Shelby design or the show car.

The designer of the Shelby series I is Michael Mate, but again it's the chicken vs. egg, did Mate's drawing on Autoweek cover precede the actual car or did the design exist first and he rendered it for Autoweek?

The designer of the Lone Star goes uncredited. The one off car is being restored right now and will soon emerge as the almost forgotten mid-engined Cobra.
