Does anyone know what the octane rating on prem. fuel that was required for the 428 P.I. in 1968. I'm trying to get a mixture down , so that I'm not going overboard . In other words if it needed 98 octane rating , & the car runs real great , & no ping etc. I don't want to be in the area of 105. Thanks---S.

Oddly enough the owners manual doesn't even list the 428 but does list the 390 4V and 427 4V hi performance as 99.8 octane requirement.
