With regular 1965 GT 350's bringing in the $300,000 +, I cetainly would figure the value for at least double. 65 R 102 is the Bob Johnson car that was restored a couple of years ago. I saw the car last year and it was a very nice restoration, I believe concourse although I am not certain. I know that the restoration was done by one of the major Shelby people, but I can't remember if it was Jim Cowles or someone else. The R model car has been in the Dallas area for the last few years since the car was restoration was completed. Bottom line is that there are few opportunities to purchase one of these cars. If several people are interested, it should be upwards of $600,000 to $1,000,000. Why not a million dollar Shelby? One thing I learned is the premium of an R model over a street version will increase over time. The car should be worth at least as much as a regular 427 Cobra, which I would guess is around $650,000. One of 36 built and I believe 29 survivors. Last year I saw 5R213 (Tulsa)and 5R102 (Carrollton, TX) in about a months time. Just for the record, I would think this is much better value then number one Elenore, the 1967 Red GT500 that sold around $420,000 at Barrett Jackson, and the 1965 GT350 that sold around $325,000.
