Jeff: If you have an original taillight panel, the harsh reality is, you can't remove the gas cap without removing the entire panel. I had ran into the same problem when changing the cap on my car. It was a design flaw by Shelby, the hole in the tail panel around the cap is too small to allow the entire body of the gas cap to pass through. The gas cap must've been installed prior to the installation of the fiberglass tail panel. Kenny
