David ,you asked. What color is the 69/70 Shelby tail panel? The front side of the tail panel is painted semigloss black before being installed on the car. the trunk side is left unpainted. The end caps were painted off the car too.What you are refering to is something a lot of restorers forget to do,which is a black out line on the end caps were it overlaps the tail panel . Another place this blending effect is done is on the lower front valance were the park lights are installed . The black out creates the illusion that the two seperate components are connected. In the case of the end caps it is different between fastback and convertables because the endcaps are shaped different. In the case of the front valence it is between the semi gloss parklight bezal and the surrounding fiberglass area(which is blacked out) in which the bezal is installed on the valence.
