There is a big difference between a company selling kit car Cobras and a
single person selling a "clone" of a 1965-1970 Shelby Mustang that they personally
own. If someone creates a clone 1970 Boss 302 Mustang should Ford go after
them for sell it too? What's next, Shelby Enterprises stopping people from
painting LeMans stripes on any 1965-2005 Mustang? I think it is E-Bay that needs to
set some standards. I think that all kit car Cobras need to be in the "Kit
Car" section of E-Bay, that real Shelby Mustangs and Shelby Cobras be in the
"Shelby" section of E-Bay and that all other Mustangs cars be listed as Ford
    Mustangs.

I think we need to get the real story behind all this. If Shelby Enterprises
doesn't want people making and selling Shelby Mustang clones then they need to
stop the people selling the parts that make them.

I don't think we are getting the whole story here.

  3. In other words...I agree with Jim

You know...thinking about this sounds much like Napster and the whole copying issue where the record industry tried to stop the web companies from allowing unlicensed music to be copied AND going
after the people making the copies or end users. In all, Jim's point of going after the manufacturer would have a stronger impact than going after people individually.

Which leads to another issue. I noticed that double hump Resonators, 69 Shelby chrome fender/hood lip moldings and other stuff are being reproduced. I wonder if they are licensed properly by Ford or
    Shelby.

    just my .02 cents

I emailed them for clarification of the policy, have not heard back yet.

FYI- all the clone cars are now under Mustang in eBay motors. As this is
what they actually are, that may be all Shelby and Co are after.

    all the best,

    Dan

If so, that is a good thing. But what if the resulting effect is that ebay
doesn't think that enough cars are listed under Shelby to keep it alive as
a separate section and all the Shelbys get lumped under "Other"???

    Just food for thought.

It's a good thought. This happened to Avanti's a while back.
