RE: Coolant product question

  1. Bill:

Sorry for being vague. I tried "Purple Ice", "Problend Ice Water", and "Water Wetter."

They work well when the outside temp drops in the 70s and low 80s which I did notice some differnce BUT when that outside temp hits above 90 or more for Houston in summer, it didn't make a
difference for me - especially when idling a lot during heavy traffic. Basically, I found the products to be "ok" marginally when the outside temp index is not that high like 70 or low 80s. Go above
that into the 90s and 100s and they become useless for me.

    - Jon, it is unclear to me from your response : by " all the ice stuff and no
    - diff ", does that specifically mean you did not have a good experience with
    - Evans NPG coolant, or some 'other' brand(s) ? Bill

    - I tried all the ice stuff for radiator and found no difference for the heat
    - index in Houston - HOT and HUMID.
    -
    - It was a waste for me...

    - - No experience with engine ice, but, have been experimenting with Evans NPG
    - coolant. So far, I am HIGHLY impressed. I used it in my ZL-1 Camaro and the
    - car never went over 160 degrees, where it
    - - previously ran around 202 ! Plus, no corrosion, etc. Changing over is
    - somewhat involved, as Evans is not compatible with regular anti freeze. I am
    - going to switch over CSX3127 this winter , as it
    - - would be nice to have a 427 Cobra that ran cool - easier on the feet! LOL
    - -
    - - Anybody else tried Evans?

    - - Does anyone have any experience with this product? Engine Ice
    - -
    - - It's a radiator coolant and as you know Cobra-Jets run real warm during
    - the summer.
    - -
    - - I would appreciate hearing from any of you.
