Re: header paint

    One more thing about header coatings nobody mentioned. This goes back a good ways, but I always found Rustoleum BarBQ paint to work well. Sandblast to bare metal, wash with brake cleaner and spray on. Let dry 24 hours before install and it cooks on when you fire her up. Oh yea, in the old days we used this on VW beach buggy headers which were hotter than a 289 and subjected to sand off the rear wheels. When the paint had lead, you could rub it after one heat/cool cycle and it would turn a beautiful grey metallic color. I used this all through the 70's and 80's with great results. SEE Y'ALL
