Appears you found a 289 high performance block from a 1966 San Jose built fastback or Shelby cast in Oct 65. You should be able to find a number of stamping that could relate to factory inspections, assembly or simply people/shops, owners name added durign a rebuild. Ebay has these every so oftern if your looking for a value. Real value would be matching up the block with the original car ... not a very easy task Hope this helps Jeff S -----Original Message----- From: Bob Labossiere <labossbob@yahoo.com> Sent: Apr 5, 2005 10:02 AM To: Shelby Forum <shelbymustang@carmemories.com> Subject: help with motor Hi everybody i have access to a 289 block.Think it is kinda rare. Here are numbers 6r09k152891 date 5k13 cast number oc5ae6015e also has Yates stamped on it.
