The problem with any of the rattle can products is that they are not even close to being as durable as a two part professional line paint products out there. The rattle can paints will not stand up well to a lot of cleaning products and some will sometimes even stain with gas and oil. If you have gone to all the trouble to strip a engine bay down to bare metal, why not put a product that will stand up and last. In my opinion rattle cans are good for quickie engine compartment restos but not for a professional level job. Rattle can products are by far a lot more economical then professional paint products and they are QUICK and EASY, but in the case of most classic Mustangs/Shelby's you can be ,as the old saying goes "penny wise and dollar foolish". As a side note I would be concerned if I was having a valuable car restored at a shop that would use a rattle can to finish a engine compartment on a ground up restoration over a professional line paint product because it would indicate they are not aware of the correct way to finish a state of the art restoration.BG On Friday, February 25, 2005, at 07:51 AM, lmathias@bellsouth.net wrote: > >> We use Krylon Semi-flat Black over bare steel.
